Four Thirst-Quenching Detox Water Recipes For Weight Loss

Here’s the Skinny on Drinking to Get Skinny

I feel like a fish. That is, after I’ve had the daily recommendation of eight glasses of water. Although I could join the fish community with all that water, I’m doing my body some good by flushing out unwanted toxins from my vital organs. In addition to getting rid of unwanted toxins from the body, water can help with weight loss, helping you to feel healthier.

The taste (or lack thereof) of water isn’t appealing to many people, which is discouraging when you have to drink six to eight glasses of it every day. But, don’t fret! I’ve some delicious recipes that can help you flavor up your water and slim down your waistline. Behold! Four detox water recipes.

Fruity, Fresh, and Beauty

Who doesn’t love strawberries and kiwis? There are the perfect ingredients for a refreshing drink after a long day or when you need something sweet to savor.

You’ll Need:

  • Two liters of water
  • Two diced strawberries
  • Two chopped kiwis

How To Make It:

  1. Chop the strawberries and kiwis up
  2. Add the fruit to your water
  3. Let it sit in fridge for a couple hours to let it seep
  4. You can add a sprig of mint to enhance the flavor

Kiwis are full of vitamin A and E, helping you rid your body of toxins. Whereas, strawberries are great for your skin health (anti-aging properties). If your taste buds need a little more fruity flavor, simply add more. The most important thing to remember is that you’re drinking water, which is much better for you than any sweet, soft drink.

Apple Cinnamon, Oh-My-My Water

Doesn’t the name just sound delicious? It brings back so many childhood memories of sipping on apple juice or dipping my spoon into cinnamon applesauce. This recipe is similar to my favorite childhood snack, but it is also great for helping your slim down, rid toxins and boost metabolism (gasp, making this today!).

You’ll Need:

  • A gallon sized pitcher
  • Water
  • One apple
  • cinnamon stick

How To Make It:

  1. Thinly slice the apple
  2. Add cinnamon stick and apple slices to pitcher
  3. Cover ½ of the pitch with ice before adding the water
  4. Let sit in refrigerator for an hour before serving

Feel free to add more apples or cinnamon slices until you get your desired taste.

Aloe-ha Water

You’ve probably applied aloe to the burns you’ve received, be it sunburns or others but have you ever heard of adding it to your water? I know, it sounds weird, right? However, it’s actually pretty scrumptious. Aloe, when ingested, can help with blood flow and circulation, digestion, as well as increasing your energy level. Try it and see what I mean!

You’ll Need:

  • Two tbsp of aloe gel from the plant (not from the store!)
  • Two tbsp of lemon juice
  • One cup Water
  • Blender

How To Make It:

  1. Break off a leave from your aloe plant and cut in down the middle
  2. Squeeze out the gel until you have two tbsp of aloe gel collected (please, no store bought aloe gel. It has added ingredients).
  3. Mix aloe gel and two tbsp of lemon with one cup water
  4. Add mixture in blender and process for one minute.
  5. Let the aloe detox water sit in the refrigerator until cool
