Seated Cat-Cow

  • Sit on the edge of your chair with your feet flat on the floor. Extend your spine and place both hands on your knees.
  • Slowly inhale and exhale. As your exhale curve your back into a C-curve pulling your abdominal muscles into your spine tucking your chin toward your chest.
  • On the inhales slowly arch your back and drop your head back looking at the ceiling.
  • Be sure to relax your jaw and shoulders.
  • Let go of your stress and repeat this motion.

Wrist Release

  • Sit tall on the edge of your chair with your feet flat on the floor.
  • Reach your one arm out in front of you with your palm facing away from you. Drop your fingers towards the floor and gently pull your fingers back with your free hand.
  • Repeat this with the opposite hand.

Seated Spinal Twist

  • Sit tall on the edge of your chair with your feet flat on the floor.
  • Lengthen your spine by slightly contracting your core muscles and lift your chest.
  • Inhale and lengthen your spine
  • Exhale and gently twist your upper body and gaze over one shoulder and hold this position for a few seconds.
  • Repeat this motion of the opposite side pausing in between each twist.

Downward Facing Desk Dog

  • Stand up and pull your chair away from your desk.
  • Stand a few feet away from your desks with your feet hip-width apart.
  • Lay your palms flat on your desk shoulder-width apart.
  • Bend at the waist with your head relaxed between your arms and keep your chin off your chest.
  • Take five deep breaths.

  • Loosen your neck and shoulder muscles.

Seated Pigeon

  • Sit tall on the edge of your chair with your feet flat on the floor.
  • Lengthen your spine by slightly contracting your core muscles and lift your chest.
  • Pull one ankle up to rest on your opposite knee
  • Inhale and slowly lengthen your spine
  • Exhale and bring your chest forward into a full stretch and hold for five breaths.
  • Release and repeat on the opposite side.

  • Release tension built up in your hips due to sitting for an extended period of time.
  • Will help to improve your flexibility.
